Love. Art. Defiance. theatre KAPOW presents a staged reading of Bauer, Lauren Gunderson’s gripping play about modernist painter Rudolf Bauer. Once a celebrated artist, Bauer saw his life’s work procured by the Guggenheim Foundation—only for his paintings to vanish from its walls. Betrayal, scandal, and an unresolved art controversy unfold in this imagined confrontation between Bauer, his wife Louise, and his former lover Hilla Rebay.

Presented in conjunction with the Currier Museum of Art’s Nicolas Party and Surrealism exhibition. Hear the play, see the art, and join the conversation.
