Bauer unravels the scandal of modernist painter Rudolf Bauer, whose once-revered works vanished from the Guggenheim’s walls. In this searing confrontation between Bauer, his wife Louise, and his former lover Hilla Rebay, celebrated playwright Lauren Gunderson explores betrayal, lost legacy, and the cost of artistic defiance. Presented alongside the Currier Museum’s Nicolas Party and Surrealism exhibition—hear the play, see the art, and question the story you thought you knew.
